He recently revealed that he hopes a career on the silver screen is
calling.
But after fans took to Twitter to urge the former footballer to go from shirt number 7 to 007, the 40-year-old was said to be 'considering' the opportunity to take on the role of James Bond.
The Daily Star reported that Beckham was taking the encouragement to act as
Daniel Craig's next replacement very seriously, having previously successfully
turned his career from sport to fashion and modelling but a representative has
since denied the claims.
A spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline on Monday that David was not planning to step into the action heroes shoes any time soon, despite recently expressing his interest in acting.

David recently announced that he was prepared for
any criticism levelled at him for his forthcoming part in Guy Ritchie's Knight
Of The Roundtable - due out next summer.
While another believer in David's budding drama
career wrote: 'Wouldn't it be awesome if David Beckham was the next James Bond.
One of Hollywood's biggest names, Guy Ritchie, is
known to have confidence in David's abilities but the sportsman is fully aware
that he may face criticism as he trades sport for the big screen.
'I am very aware that many sportsmen and other
celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed,' he told The
Times newspaper.
'I know that it is a tough profession, where you
need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn't want to push myself
forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more
practice.
'But what I have done so far, I have loved. I can
deal with most things. I am a well-known person, so I have got used to
criticism.'
Despite admitting he still feels 'pangs of regret'
at no longer playing professional football, the father-of-four seems intent on
cracking Hollywood.
Last year, David made a special guest appearance in
an Only Fools and Horses sketch for Sport Relief, and went on to bag a cameo in
Ritchie's The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
The British film director, who recently married
Jacqui Ainsley in a lavish star-studded ceremony, told Access Hollywood: 'He's in the film. He's in
there... He's marginally disguised, but he's in the movie. I mean, once you
know who it is, you'll know who it is!'
The latest foray onto in front of the camera comes
just weeks after it was revealed that David will also star in his pal's
production of King Arthur.
The father-of-four has reportedly signed up for an
unknown part in the epic, starring Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Eric Bana and
Poppy Delevingne.
David and Guy have been friends for years and have
already worked together a number of times, including an advert for H&M in
2013 and on a commercial for Beckham's Haig Whiskey.
The world-famous sports star, who has children
Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 10, and four-year-old Harper with wife Victoria
Beckham, retired from football in May 2013.
